When I started I was not sure if drama was for me, but Drama Time has helped me develop my love for acting. Doireann and her team have given me opportunities to explore different types of acting. From Shakespeare when I was 9 to, Alice in Wonderland when I was 13, to, most recently, Radio Plays at 15! My 4 little girls, aged 3, 4, 5 and 6, absolutely love attending Doireann’s drama classes. As a parent I am delighted with the experiences they have both had through classes at the weekend and at Doireann’s summer Drama Camp. From team-building games, creating props, singing, dancing, vocal work, and characterisation to performances in Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ they have been submerged in the theatrical world by a trained, working actress. Doireann is a genius when it comes to introducing children to Shakespeare. Ultimately, Doireann quite simply provides the full package and she does it in a fun and enjoyable way. I even end up singing along to the songs my girls learn! I can’t wait to see what my girls will be experiencing next with Doireann.

Doireann McKenna is a very special lady.
Not only is she a wonderfully talented actress, performer and singer, she is an incredible teacher. My two sons aged 10 and 14 are both on the autistic spectrum and from the start Doireann has taken the time to include them and their capabilities along with the other children in the group. She has made it her mission to get to know my children and to help them always feel included. She knows what they can and can’t do and uses this to help them grow as little performers but more importantly as people. The fact that Doireann is a performer really enables her teaching as she really know how it feels to perform on stage whereas so many other drama groups out there don’t have that actual experience. Doireann is always calm and understanding and always tries to bring the best out of every child. Her lessons and shows are tailored to suit the needs of every individual and I would thoroughly recommend her and Drama Time.
