Founder and Director of Drama Time  -

Doireann McKenna, is a professional working actress and an experienced Drama facilitator. 

A QUB Drama and Spanish graduate, Doireann has worked professionally with Tinderbox Theatre Company, Cahoots NI, Replay Theatre Company, Dear Conjunction and GBL Productions performing at home in the Lyric theatre, the MAC Belfast, Playhouse Derry and further afield, across the UK and Ireland. She played the lead role - Emily, in The MAC Christmas show Rumpelstiltskin. She has also had the incredible opportunity to perform on 42nd street on Broadway, NYC with the musical BABBLE.

She is currently appearing in the DFI Road Safety cycling advertisement and starred in the BBC4 documentary  - Downfall, playing the role of Queen Henrietta Maria.

As a Voiceover Artist she has voiced many campaigns for Lidl, Invest NI and NWRC.

She has a special focus on theatre for children and young people, having regularly worked and performed with Replay Theatre Company and Cahoots NI.

This work gives her a unique understanding of what young people and children need and want from drama.

Access NI Certificate

All Drama Time teachers and assistants are experienced facilitators who all hold an 

Enhanced Access NI Certificate.

Doireann is also trained in the Child Protection Initiative – Keeping Children Safe.

Drama Time team member Ella Campbell

is also a Belfast actor and drama facilitator. 

Ella has been at Drama Time since it began and has

helped grow it into the success that is is today.

Ella is a graduate of Belfast Metropolitan College and University of Brighton with a BA (Hons) in Theatre Arts. During her studies she performed with Kabosh and Cahoots NI theatre company as well as training as a drama facilitator with Doireann as her mentor.

Her most recent credits include touring with Spanner in the works theatre company with 'Cuss the word' and 'Banjaxed' 

Ella regularly performs with several musical societies throughout Belfast, appearing in the Grand Opera House when she took to the stage with Spamamlot and Grease. Ella's favourite time of the year is Hallowe'en when she turns fun into frights! She is most likely to be found scaring the people of Antrim with Fright Fest and West Belfast with both Fèile an Phobal and Colin Glen Partnership. 

Ella also holds a level 3 Childcare qualification from the Northern Regional College, giving her the skills to actively engage and teach children through drama as well as understanding and implementing safeguarding within a

child-led facility.
